We use our verification process to assure that you are authorized to test, or you own a particular domain that you have asked us to test. If we ask you to verify this means that your test will not be scheduled until you follow the verification process.
CyberTests as a division of GOCYBER is committed to ethical testing, we make consistent attempts to verify who you are and what rights you have to test a web domain.
We provide to you a verification code. You get this code by pressing the "Generate Verification Code" button on our Domain Verification Entry page. This populates our database with your request. This request will be verified later after you complete your implementation in your DNS.
We ask you to input the domain or target IP and your email address. We auto fill your verification code. You must submit this to us.
You can download the verification code to your device, the download file will be time date stamped.
Go here to register your domain for verification and to generate your verification code:
Once you have submitted this code to us you must follow the following steps
1. Log in to your domain registrar or DNS provider's control panel.
2. Find the option to add a new TXT record or host record.
3. If your DNS provider asks for a name of the TXT record add in:
<your domain name> i.e. example.com
4. Create a new TXT record and enter the following value: verification=e51ad836-9847-47d0-990a-9d3e4e579aa2 <-- in this case we show the generated record above, YOU MUST ADD YOUR UNIQUE GENERATED CODE not this code.
5. Set your TTL to auto.
6. Save the changes, and the DNS update will propagate within the next 24-48 hours
1. Accessing the Server: You need to have access to your server. This typically involves logging in to their hosting provider's account or accessing the server through an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client.
2. Locating the Root Directory: The root directory is the main directory where all the files for a website are stored. It's often named "public_html", "www", or simply the domain name. You should navigate to this directory.
3. Uploading the File: Once in the root directory, you need to upload the verification file. If you are using an FTP client, you simply drag and drop the file from your computer to the root directory. Alternatively, if you are using a file manager provided by your hosting provider, there should be an option to upload files.
4. Verify the Upload: After uploading the file, you should double-check to ensure it's in the correct location. They can do this by refreshing the file list in your FTP client or file manager and confirming that the file appears in the root directory.
5. Check File Permissions: It's important to ensure that the file permissions are set correctly so that the file can be accessed by the verification process. Typically, the permissions should be set to 644 or similar (readable by owner, writable by owner, readable by group, readable by others).
6. Verify Successful Upload: Once the file is uploaded and permissions are set, you can verify its presence by attempting to access it through a web browser. They can simply enter the URL to the file (e.g., http://www.example.com/verification.txt
) and ensure that it loads without any errors.
Once you have verified that you have implemented the CyberTests verification code correctly in your DNS or root directory you must send this verification to us. Your do this by going to our Domain/IP Verification Page:
Our Domain Verification/IP Page is a simple enter your domain or IP and code form that allows you to verify in our database that you have successfully implemented our code. Once we receive this verification we will commence your Penetration Test. If we do not receive your verification within 24hours we will delete your test from our test queue, we will inform you of this action.
